Construction of Ecological Security Pattern Based on Ecological Sensitivity Evaluation——A Case Study of the Loess Plateau

  • Building an ecological security pattern based on ecological sensitivity assessment is an important way to build a harmonious China's modernization. Taking the Loess Plateau as the research object, we constructs an index system combining with the natural environment and socioeconomic characteristics of the region. The results show that: (1) The overall ecological sensitivity of the Loess Plateau is moderately sensitive, with highly sensitive, and moderately and highly sensitive areas accounting for 24.7% of the total area; (2) An important ecological source is determined, mainly in the west and east and mainly along the forest belt; (3) The 47 ecological corridors are distributed in “two horizontal and two vertical”, with a total length of about 24,556 km and a maximum length of 3,104 km, with a minimum length of 46 km; and (4) an ecological pattern of “three and more points in two corridors and three screens” shall be established, and ecological construction strategies shall be put forward in light of local conditions.
