Research on the Impact of Forestry Technology Extension on Farmers’ Participation in Forest Carbon Sequestration Management——Based on the Survey of Rural Households in Fujian Province

  • Forestry technology promotion can reduce the cost of forest carbon sink operation and increase farmers’ forestry income, thus increasing farmers’ enthusiasm to participate in forest carbon sink projects and promoting the accomplishment of China’s dual carbon goals. Therefore, this paper attempted to integrate forestry technology promotion and forest carbon sink management intention into a unified research framework based on farmers’ perspectives and adopted a logit model to analyze the impact of forestry technology promotion on farmers’ participation in forest carbon sink management in Fujian Province. The results of the study showed that:forestry technology promotion could promote farmers’ participation in forest carbon sink management;farmers who had forestry technology training need and farmers who had used forestry technology both positively and significantly affect farmers’ willingness to participate in forest carbon sink management;farmers’ age, whether farmers had non-farm employment certificates, and the number of household laborers also had positive and significant effects on farmers’ participation in forest carbon sink management. Finally, based on the findings of the study,it proposed the suggestions for improving farmers’ willingness to participate in forest carbon sink management.
