Abstract:
Using the relevant statistical data of Jiangsu Province from 2013 to 2022, this paper constructs two evaluation systems: one for high-quality forestry development, covering 6 dimensions with 12 indicators, namely innovation-driven development, coordinated balance, green ecology, open cooperation and shared benefits for the people, and digital popularization, as well as a digital economy evaluation system covering 3 dimensions and 5 indicators, namely new infrastructure, industrial digitalization and digital industrialization. The entropy method was employed to determine indicator weights, a comprehensive evaluation model was used to calculate the development indices of the two systems, and a coupling coordination degree model was applied to analyze the interaction between them. The findings reveal that: (1) The comprehensive development levels of both systems show a steady upward trend, but the digital economy grows faster than the forestry sector, indicating asynchronous development between the two. (2) The coupling degree between the two systems remains consistently high and stable, while the coordination degree increased from 0.326 in 2013 to 0.897 in 2022, achieving a three-stage transition from imbalance to coordination to sound coordination," with a continuously strengthening synergistic effect. (3) Development within the forestry system is uneven; the dimension of green ecology performs well, whereas the dimensions of innovation-driven development and openness and cooperation are relatively weak, constituting the primary shortcomings constraining high-quality development. This study would provide a provincial-scale empirical basis for understanding the interactive relationship between the digital economy and high-quality forestry development, offering valuable insights for promoting synergistic development of "digital green forertry" in Jiangsu Province and similar regions, and for serving rural revitalization and Chinese-style modernization. Finally, policy recommendations are proposed in terms of strengthening digital empowerment, optimizing industrial structure, and improving coordination mechanisms.
